30 Active Days Challenge
I am starting a new challenge for myself to be active EVERY DAY for 30 days!
By doing this, I hope to achieve stronger, healthier, happier version of me. When I see others doing similar things it inspires me to strive for something better and I always think that we can be stronger by inspiring each other. The goal of this challenge is to be present in the now, to be aware of the current situation, the way it is now and take active steps to change it.
That means facing the truth which is a challenge in itself. But I strongly believe that we can uncover and be aware of topics that are tough to face, with truth, without sugar coating it, but without shame, guilt of judgment. We can admit to ourselves first and foremost the decisions we’ve made that brought us to the point we’re now .
In my personal experience, I’ve come to realize that weight issues are more than just physical, sometimes it helps to identify mental and emotional reasons why we make certain decisions that have direct effect on our bodies. Once we’ve become aware and identified the reasons and underlying issues, it’s time to take action!
Our health is our most precious possession we will ever have. If you’re not happy where you’re now with your physical abilities or just an overall level of happiness, it’s time to do something about it. This is not the time to shift the responsibility or blame, this is the time to accept responsibility, because no one else is responsible for our health. Whatever happened in the past, the evens, the tragedies, the struggles, people who hurt us or didn’t take care of us, none of that matters…what matters is you taking back the control of your life!
Taking responsibility for becoming stronger and tougher, for pushing yourself to do better. Why should you push yourself or become tougher? Well, has the other way brought you the results you desire to see? To me, if you honestly cannot find a reason, let the reason be the fact that you’re a spiritual warrior, traveling through time and space in this physical body, having this human experience for a short time on earth which you should make the most of.
Because I love myself, I will push myself to be active every day. Whether it is doing stretches every morning, taking stairs at work, maybe walking for 5 minutes if that’s all you can do. Whatever you level of fitness is, you can gradually increase your activity little by little every couple of days. By the end of the 30 days, you will gain more strength and endurance and you have developed a new habit of being active. So many things in our daily lives that we do are simply habits. We get used to certain emotions, whether they’re benefiting us or not, we get used to certain foods because they comfort us, or a drink at the end of the night because it helps us to relax and let go. But what if you could develop new habits that would give you similar feelings?
It is a known fact that people feel better after working out, not only do you feel endorphin but you feel a certain sense of self pride, or feeling attractive when you have mastered a certain dance move, yoga pose, remembered to drink lots of water and now your skin feels so much healthier, or maybe you feel good after you have meditated even if it’s just for a few minutes. Aren’t we addicted in a way, to a certain degree to those good feelings as well?
And wouldn’t it make you feel great? Wouldn’t you enjoy life just a little bit more because you simply feel better in your own body? Wouldn’t you just feel more alive? Isn’t it worth it?
I think it is. Let the challenge begin! Isn’t it exciting to start something new that will transform you?
Breathe deeply as often as you can, love every cell of your body, the way it is now, love your legs which allow you to walk, think about a person in a wheel chair that would give anything to be able to do that, or do any exercises necessary to be able to walk more, drink the pure water, love the fruits and veggies, think about elevating yourself to a higher vibration, imagine yourself from a perspective of being a spiritual being, become addicted to health and beauty! Not pain, suffering and sorrow…think about it. What are you predominantly think and feel? If it’s not health, love, peace and beauty, ask yourself why are you thinking about those things? How are they going to help you become the best version of you? You cannot stop wars, change politics, end world hunger, abuse, cruelty and unkindness but you can change your own world!
Not many people talk about addictions in a positive way, we only look at it as a negative thing, but I think that sometimes it can be used as a positive. To make a drastic change it will require drastic measures. If we realize that we’ve become addicted to something that doesn’t serve us, like feeling of sorrow, we start seeing it all around us, in the wars going on, in the eyes of the women who had a hard life, in our own life, but where does it lead? To more sorrow? What if you changed the channel and start developing an obsession about health and beauty? Looking up videos about beautiful places, works of art, music, recipes for juices and smoothies, exercises, dance, types of tai chi or breathing exercises?
Celebrate life, celebrate yourself and your own unique human experience, make the most of it, it’s the only one we’ve got!
